When a homeowner noticed some small water spots on a window sill, they wanted an expert's opinion on where the water was coming through. We worked alongside Higgins & Associates on the initial exploratory demolition for this home, and as soon as the tile cladding was removed it was apparent there were some serious waterproofing issues needing to be addressed. What started as a suspect window turned into a full wall reconstruction project due to the extremely deteriorated wall framing and sheathing. A combination of improper flashing techniques and a compromised gutter led to the damage pictured after years of enduring Colorado's unpredictable weather. After shoring up the various roof sections, we deconstructed the wall and completed all new framing, sheathing, WRB, drainage mat, flashings, insulation, drywall, paint, and tile cladding.
