The existing patio slab exhibited differential settlement, evidenced by cracking and vertical displacement at the doorway threshold. The slab was demolished and removed to expose the underlying subgrade and existing plumbing infrastructure. The subgrade was then regraded and mechanically compacted, with adjustments made around existing utility lines to ensure proper support and drainage. A gravel base was installed and leveled, followed by placement of reinforcement steel (welded wire mesh) to improve load distribution and crack resistance. Perimeter surfaces were protected, and the area was prepped for a new concrete pour, ensuring proper elevation and slope away from the structure to prevent future settlement and water intrusion.
